DenThe inspiration behind this logo was from psychedelic posters, where if the viewer couldn't read the poster, they weren't meant to go to the event. The same idea is true today in the chat rooms and bulletin boards, where the users swap ASCII characters for other characters to make it difficult to read what they are writing. The arrow is also meant to be forward pointing. This is also a custom typeface that I was commissioned to design for DEN.
